Re: England v Brazil
The complete Southgate performance. totally uninspiring, his favourite result, a draw. And a last gasp one at that! But against a Belgium without KDB and England struggled to get a draw. The sooner Southgate goes to ManU the better.

Re: England v Brazil
Decent enough going forward but a bit passy passy and tried to walk the ball into the net. Bowen did well but as others said needed an overlapping full back behind him. Got to be in the squad as he can play up front as well.

Re: England v Brazil
Bowen was excellent tonight, just let down by that Liverpool twat behind him.

What a shocking player that Gomez is. The whole back line is a shower of shit

onsideman 12:15 Wed Mar 27
Re: England v Brazil
Bowen having a decent game but massively disadvantaged by not having a proper right back with any attacking intent behind him to support, just Konsa and then Gomes, both out of position centre halves

Boyos playing a very good game at home to the Pawełs

Re: England v Brazil
This game certainly point out England's weaknesses. Got some great midfield and attacking talent but arguably the weakest England defensive options for many years. Billy Bonds would get a hundred caps as a centre half in this era.

Re: England v Brazil
Bloody Pickford with his “ look at me, see how far I can kick it” cost us there, Pep or Klopp would not touch him with a barge pole, the man’s brain dead when it comes to keeping possession and playing out from the back.

See waistcoat still picks Chilwell after that nightmare performance against Brazil . we'll never win anything under this tosser.

Re: England v Brazil
I agree, declan and paqueta ahead of downes would have been perfect but the jock minge has show again this season that soucek is the first name on the teamsheet, and he'll even put our best player out wide to accommodate him

Re: England v Brazil
Actually, looking at it, apart from the most recent games Jorginho doesn't often start and Rice has played the holding midfielder behind Odegaard and Havertz or Trossard.

Manuel 12:10 Tue Mar 26
Re: England v Brazil
Will watch their game on Sunday so will see how much Rice gets forward.

Nagel 12:07 Tue Mar 26
Re: England v Brazil
Manuel, Arsenal tend to have Jorginho as the holding midfielder, Odegaard as the no 10 and Rice as a box to box.

Nagel 12:05 Tue Mar 26
Re: England v Brazil
"What a shame we couldn't play him to his potential and Moyes had his handbrake on."

Pretty sure that at the time most us felt that Moyes should have actually put more of a handbrake on him in his final year here. We were better as a team when Rice played as a holding midfielder and noticeably worse when Moyes allowed him to go on his fruitless forays forward while the hapless Soucek stayed back.

Obviously if Moyes had given Downes a chance or we'd had Alvarez or any other proper DM back then we'd have wanted Rice to play more box to box, but we didn't.

Manuel 12:00 Tue Mar 26
Re: England v Brazil
I haven't watched a great deal of Arsenal, like most of us I suppose, but when I have I haven't seen him going forward that much, just more of the usual short passing. Does ''advanced role'' really mean he's hurting defenders? Can't say I've seen it. This is what Keane and Souness have labelled against him and I'd tend to agree, but in fairness to Rice he's never proclaimed to be an advanced midfielder, although I'm sure he would like to be, I know he models his game on Yaya Toure. I thought Odegaard went forward and Rice was more the sitter?

Rice is first and foremost at best a CM, some would say a DM, compare him to say Bellingham going forward and there is no comparison, Bellers is in a different league to Rice talent wise.

Lee Trundle 11:41 Tue Mar 26
Re: England v Brazil
Of course he's playing a more advanced role.

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13092763/declan-rice-arsenals-all-rounder-assessed-by-jamie-carragher-and-ian-wright-on-monday-night-football

First line in that details analysis, "Declan Rice has been deployed in a more advanced role for Arsenal.."

But you're right about things being hysterical. All this because I said I yearned to see him in this position for us.

Manuel 3:29 Tue Mar 26
Re: England v Brazil
When I've seen Rice play for Arsenal he has hasn't looked any more advanced at all, if anything more deep tapping the ball sideways and backwards. We got over 100 mil for him, so assume he must have looked OK under Moyes. It's all very hysterical on here and Rice is only captain as Walker is injured..

Moyes getting the blame for something else I see.

Laughable really.
